Wuhan Xingchen Modern Bio-engineering Co., Ltd. is a national high-tech enterprise jointly invested by Wuhan Xingyu Food Science and Technology Co., Ltd., Wuhan Institute of Virology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Jiangsu Microbial Research Co., Ltd. The company is located at No. 76, Building 3#A, Sendun Fifth Road, East Lake High-tech Development Zone, Wuhan City, a national-level development zone.

The company is based on biotechnology and adheres to the Business Philosophy of "developing high and new technologies and caring for public health." With the enterprise spirit of "serving the country through industry and striving for success", it aims to break the monopoly of foreign multinational companies on lutein and β-carotene products. As one of the earliest manufacturers in China to adopt fermentation for the industrial production of β-carotene, the company, Powered by the Wuhan Institute of Virology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Jiangsu Microbial Research Co., Ltd., has, after years of development and research, owned a group of independent intellectual property rights. In 2010, it participated in the drafting and formulation of the national standard "National Food Safety Standard Food Additives β-Carotene (Fermentation Method)". In 2014, it participated in the drafting and formulation of the national standards "National Food Safety Standard Food Additives Selenium-enriched Edible Fungi Powder" and "National Food Safety Standard Food Additives Selenium-enriched Yeast".

Since its inception, the company has attached great importance to technological development and transformation, focusing on the development and research of new products. Technological personnel with a college degree or above account for 36.1% of the total number of company employees, and R&D personnel account for 21.3%. Focusing on the research and development of β-carotene, lutein, and related carotenoid preparations, it has successfully developed more than 20 products in 4 series. Among them, the "Fermentation Method Natural β-Carotene Submicron Emulsion" developed in 2007 won the second prize of Wuhan Science and Technology Progress Award; "Fermentation Method for Producing Natural β-Carotene" won the third prize of Hubei Science and Technology Progress Award; in 2014, the "Key Technologies and Industrial Application of Microbial Oil Processing" jointly completed with the School of Food Science and Engineering, Wuhan Institute of Technology, won the first prize of Hubei Science and Technology Progress Award; in 2015, it was awarded the title of Hubei High-tech Enterprise; in 2017, it received the honorary title of "Wuhan Science and Technology Innovation Enterprise Grower"; in 2020, the Hubei Provincial People's Government awarded the second prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award for the Hubei Provincial Science and Technology R&D project "Research and Application of Key Technologies for High-efficiency Extraction and Refining of Natural Plant Pigments," in which Mr. Chen, general manager of the company, represented our company. At the same time, the company owns 1 invention patent and 18 utility model patents. With the continuous development of the enterprise, the company now owns two production lines for carotenoid powders such as lutein and β-carotene, and one production line each for emulsions, oils, and microparticles.
